First published in 1983. This volume was created by professionals involved with high risk infants to try and understand the role of early medical events in the development of the child. Being involved in research on the development of premature and sick newborns the authors felt compelled to try to integrate the existing medical psychological and educational research and place it within a theoretical framework. The book reviews and integrates the existing research on the development of high risk infants.
