INHERITORS OF SILENCE

It all began before the Partition of 1947 long before the country was divided. Anurima the firstborn among the fourth generation of the Dasguptas grows up in a loving family regaled with stories of her family’s rich legacy in Bangladesh by her Rangapishi Mihir Kumari. Despite the sharp cleave in their golden history these memories like silent heirlooms weigh on her as she grows up. One February dawn in 1991 a dream visits her. As Anurima navigates the weight of marital life and motherhood forging an identity of her own amidst personal battles the dream beckons inviting her to reclaim her roots. And so she goes. What will she find in a homeland that lives only in memory?
