Essentials of Period Style

<p><em>Essentials of Period Style: A Sourcebook for Stage and Production Designers</em> covers the visual social and political dynamics of multiple epochs and cultures and discusses how these trends affect the design of the architecture costumes and furnishings of the time. </p><p>This book relates these characteristics and cultural movements to the design needs students encounter as they design a period production. Each chapter contains examples of period style in both theatre and film from a variety of notable productions and a glossary of specialized terms and words used in the chapter.
